OP Gaming Core: OnePlus is stepping up its game — quite literally. On Monday, the company announced its brand-new proprietary gaming technology, OP Gaming Core, designed to tackle some of the biggest challenges in mobile gaming, including lag, frame drops, and overheating.
The new system combines chip-level optimisations, hardware advancements, and software tools to deliver smoother gameplay, improved responsiveness, and enhanced stability — all while maintaining top-tier graphics performance. The technology will debut with the upcoming OnePlus 15 series, marking a major leap forward for the company’s gaming ambitions.

What Is OP Gaming Core?
According to OnePlus, OP Gaming Core is a chip-level gaming architecture built from the ground up with more than 20,000 lines of original code. It fundamentally re-engineers how performance is delivered during intense gaming sessions, operating deep within Android’s foundational layers. The brand says this system is backed by 254 gaming-optimisation patents, making it one of the most sophisticated mobile gaming systems ever developed by OnePlus.
At the centre of OP Gaming Core is the new OnePlus CPU Scheduler, which intelligently allocates computing resources based on gameplay requirements. Unlike the standard Completely Fair Scheduler (CFS) found in most Android devices, the OnePlus version analyses game workloads in real time to identify and optimise potential load points that might slow down performance.
This advanced scheduling method reportedly reduces CPU instructions for critical gaming tasks by up to 22.74%, resulting in lower power consumption and improved thermal efficiency.
Stable 120fps Gaming with Better Efficiency
Thanks to the CPU Scheduler, devices powered by OP Gaming Core — starting with the OnePlus 15 series — will be capable of maintaining a stable 120fps in popular games. The company says this system allows for per-frame power consumption control, ensuring that each frame is processed efficiently without draining excessive battery power.

OnePlus claims this technology will help prevent the usual frame rate drops and overheating issues that gamers face during extended play sessions. The result: a smoother, more consistent high-refresh-rate experience with improved touch responsiveness and lower latency.
Next-Gen HyperRendering for Superior Graphics
Alongside OP Gaming Core, OnePlus also introduced Next-Gen HyperRendering, an innovative GPU optimisation layer that reconstructs the graphics pipeline. Using enhanced Vulkan driver-layer logic, it delivers up to an 80% boost in per-frame rendering efficiency.
Even more impressive, this system reportedly brings near-zero additional latency during frame interpolation — meaning faster frame delivery, smoother transitions, and sharper visuals even in graphically demanding titles. For gamers, this translates to more realistic graphics with fewer slowdowns, especially in high-action moments.
OnePlus Performance Tri-Chip: The Hardware Powerhouse
The OP Gaming Core doesn’t work alone. It’s supported by OnePlus’ new Performance Tri-Chip — a hardware trio consisting of:
- Performance Chip – for overall computational optimisation
- Touch-Response Chip – for ultra-fast touch input processing
- Wi-Fi Chip G2 – for reliable, low-latency network performance
The Touch-Response Chip is particularly noteworthy. It offloads touch-processing tasks from the main SoC, improving real-time responsiveness. It supports a 330Hz touch sampling rate and a 3200Hz instantaneous sampling rate, ensuring near-instant reactions during fast-paced games.
Meanwhile, the Wi-Fi Chip G2 brings in advanced RF modules, SmartLink technology, and proprietary algorithms that help maintain stable connections even in weak signal areas. This means fewer lags, less stutter, and a smoother online gaming experience overall.
The Performance Tri-Chip system is built on the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 platform, further reinforcing OnePlus’ focus on raw performance and stability.
OP FPS Max and 165Hz Display Support
OnePlus also unveiled a high-frame-rate gaming feature called OP FPS Max. This technology combines hardware and software optimisations to unlock ultra-high frame rates — supporting a customised 165Hz display and native 165fps gameplay.
While OP Gaming Core ensures smooth frame delivery at the chip level, the Performance Tri-Chip enhances touch precision and connectivity to complement it. Together, they create a seamless, lag-free gaming experience that feels closer to PC-level responsiveness than traditional smartphones.
What’s Next for OnePlus Gaming
OnePlus confirmed that the OP Gaming Core and its related technologies will debut with the OnePlus 15 series, expected to launch soon. The company also revealed that 165fps gameplay is already available for select popular games, with plans to expand support through future partnerships with game developers and industry leaders.
With this announcement, OnePlus is clearly positioning itself as a serious player in the mobile gaming segment, challenging brands like ASUS ROG and Xiaomi’s Black Shark series. By merging deep-level chip optimisation with innovative hardware and AI-driven control, OnePlus aims to redefine what mobile gaming can achieve in terms of speed, stability, and visual performance.
