The Oura Ring 5 is coming sooner than anyone expected. A leaked internal document posted on Reddit revealed that Oura will officially announce the Ring 5 on May 28, 2026. Pre-orders open the same day. The ring goes on sale and ships from June 4, 2026. Until recently, most reports placed the Ring 5 arrival in late 2027. The early launch has caught many by surprise.
In this article you will get to know everything about the Oura Ring 5 so far.

Smaller and More Comfortable Design
The biggest change in the Oura Ring 5 is the design. According to the leaked internal document, the Ring 5 is smaller and more comfortable than the Ring 4. Images that surfaced in March 2026 show a slightly more curved outer surface compared to the Ring 4. The result is a ring that looks more like jewelry than a health tracker. This has been a deliberate direction for Oura given its growing following among celebrities and high-profile users. Prince Harry, Jennifer Aniston, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Mark Zuckerberg have all been spotted wearing Oura rings.
New Colors
The Ring 5 comes in six color options. Rose Gold from the Ring 4 lineup is being replaced by Deep Rose. Other options include Matte Black, Silver in both brushed and glossy finishes, and Gold. The color names alone reflect Oura’s continued move toward the premium end of the market.

Same Health Tracking Features
The Ring 5 keeps the same health tracking features as the Ring 4. The focus this time is on refinement rather than adding new sensors. The Ring 5 tracks sleep stages, sleep scores, resting heart rate, heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, body temperature, activity, steps, calories burned, and stress. It also gives daily Readiness, Sleep, and Activity scores through the Oura app. The leaked document makes no mention of new sensors like blood pressure monitoring, which competitors like RingConn Gen 3 and Ultrahuman have been chasing.
Charging Case
The Ring 5 ships with a size-specific charging case. The case can hold enough charge to top up the ring four times on a single charge. With battery life expected at around seven days, that means you can travel with just the charging case and comfortably last a month without needing a wall charger. Some competitors have managed a one-size-fits-all charging case, but Oura is sticking with its size-specific design.
Price
No official pricing has been confirmed. The Oura Ring 4 starts at $349 in the US and Rs 28,900 in India. A price increase of around $50 is expected given hardware and component costs. The Ring 5 may start at around $399. Oura has not confirmed this.
Competition
The smart ring market has changed a lot since the Ring 4 launched in October 2024. Samsung’s Galaxy Ring, RingConn Gen 3, and Ultrahuman have all grown their presence in the segment. RingConn Gen 3 and Ultrahuman already offer blood pressure monitoring, something Oura does not yet support. Oura’s response with the Ring 5 appears to be to focus on comfort, design, and sensor accuracy rather than racing to add new health metrics. Given Oura’s $11 billion valuation and pace toward $1 billion in annual sales, it clearly believes its existing formula still has a strong market.
What is Not Changing
The Oura Ring 5 keeps the same health and membership features as the Ring 4. The Oura membership subscription at $5.99 per month continues and is required to access the full range of health insights and scores in the app. The ring still works with both iOS and Android.
Conclusion
The Oura Ring 5 is arriving much earlier than expected. It is a refinement update rather than a major overhaul smaller, more comfortable, new colors, and the same health tracking as the Ring 4. For existing Ring 3 or Ring 4 users, the upgrade decision will come down to how much the design and comfort improvements matter. For new buyers, the Ring 5 will be the obvious choice from June 4, 2026 onwards.
