Apple is getting ready to launch the new HomePod Mini again. This will be the second version of the smart speaker. This time, Apple is focusing more on speed and sound quality. For now, there is no official confirmation, but reports say testing has already started.
Faster Chip Coming
In this new model, Apple may use a faster and updated chip. The current one has an S5 chip, but now it might come with an S7 or newer chip, the same one used in the Apple Watch. Because of this, the speaker will work faster, Siri will reply quickly, and smart home controls will run more smoothly. Along with this, the connection between Apple devices will also improve.

Sound Will Be Clearer
Apple is also said to be improving the audio quality this time. The new HomePod Mini may have clear sound, better bass, and louder volume. The design may look the same, but some small internal changes could make the sound sharper. Also, the microphones will be better so Siri can hear you clearly even if you’re far away.
Focus on Smart Home
Apple is planning to make it more useful for smart home users. The new HomePod Mini will support Matter and Thread, so it can connect with more smart home devices easily. You will be able to control lights, fans, and other gadgets using Siri. Apple is also improving its Home app to make setup and control simpler.
Launch Expected in 2025
For now, the new HomePod Mini (2nd Gen) is still under testing. Reports say Apple may launch it sometime in 2025, maybe along with new iPads or Mac models.
The first HomePod Mini came out in 2020 and became quite popular because of its compact size and strong sound. Now the second version is expected to give faster performance and richer sound — perfect for people who love Apple’s smart home setup.
