Samsung’s OneUI 8.5 Is Coming — And It Could Change How You Use Your Galaxy Forever

Posted on February 11, 2026February 11, 2026 By Kumar Sumit No Comments on Samsung’s OneUI 8.5 Is Coming — And It Could Change How You Use Your Galaxy Forever

Samsung is preparing a major shift in how Galaxy devices feel and function with the upcoming OneUI 8.5 update. Designed to blend advanced artificial intelligence with a cleaner, more user-friendly interface, the update is expected to debut alongside the Galaxy S26 Ultra in February 2025. The release marks an important step in Samsung’s push toward smarter, more personalized mobile software. A beta program is already running on several Galaxy devices, and early signs suggest the stable version will bring noticeable upgrades across the ecosystem — although some advanced tools will remain exclusive to newer hardware.

AI Features Take Center Stage

OneUI 8.5 focuses heavily on AI-driven improvements and visual polish. Among the headline additions is Edge Fusion AI, a feature limited to the Galaxy S26 lineup. It uses edge computing to deliver real-time, context-aware responses, making the phone feel more adaptive to user behavior.

Samsung has also upgraded Bixby, improving its natural language understanding so voice commands feel smoother and more conversational. Multitasking with voice is expected to become faster and more accurate. On the design side, subtle visual refinements aim to create a cleaner, more cohesive interface without overwhelming longtime users. Together, these upgrades reflect Samsung’s goal of building software that evolves with individual preferences.

Beta Testing Nears Final Stage

The OneUI 8.5 beta has already reached its third phase. Devices in the testing pool include the Galaxy S25, S24, S23, S22, and Samsung’s Z Flip and Fold models. Each beta round has helped Samsung refine performance, stabilize AI features, and incorporate user feedback. A fourth beta, expected by mid-February 2025, will likely focus on final optimizations before the public release.

Rollout Plan Confirmed

Samsung plans a staggered rollout to keep the transition smooth. The Galaxy S26 series and Z Fold/Flip 7 will receive the update first in late February 2025. March will bring OneUI 8.5 to the S24, S23, and Fold/Flip 6. The Galaxy S22 lineup follows in April, while mid-range Galaxy A devices and tablets like the Tab S11 and S10 are scheduled for mid-2025.

Some AI-heavy features will require newer hardware. Edge Fusion AI and enhanced Bixby performance depend on the processing power of the Galaxy S26 series. Older phones will receive a lighter version of the update to maintain performance stability.

Faster Updates, Broader Support

Samsung is also emphasizing quicker software rollouts. The company says OneUI 8.5 reflects a stronger commitment to delivering updates on time, helping users access new features sooner and extending device support.

More than a routine refresh, OneUI 8.5 signals Samsung’s vision of an AI-powered mobile future — one where Galaxy devices feel smarter, faster, and more personal than ever.
