Samsung first introduced Project Moohan in December alongside Android XR, but at that time, only limited details were shared. A month later, another preview was given during the Galaxy S25 launch in January, where customers got a closer look at the upcoming XR headset. Now, new information confirms that Samsung is finally ready to unveil its first Android XR headset at MWC 2025. The event MWC date is 3 March to 6 March.
According to Samsung’s official MWC 2025 preview, the company will reveal its first Android XR headset namely Project Moohan, offering a glimpse into the future of AI-powered extended reality. This means the device will integrate multimodal AI with advanced XR capabilities, delivering immersive and personalized experiences.

Project Moohan: What to Expect at MWC 2025
Samsung and Google previously introduced the Project Moohan developer kit in December. During a 30-minute hands-on session, it was revealed that the headset was close to the final version that will be available to consumers in 2025. It runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 processor and features an external battery, with support for larger USB-C battery packs for extended use.

Some partners received early units before the official announcement to prepare applications, while more developers got access in December. At Samsung Unpacked 2025 in January, attendees were also allowed to take pictures of the headset which also increases anticipation for its launch.
Now that the MWC 2025 unveiling is confirmed, we can expect Samsung to reveal the final product name,its official pricing,shipping date and full specifications.
So far, Project Moohan has been described as lightweight and polished, making it a promising device. However it is not confirmed as Samsung will announce a release date at MWC or announce later.
With the launch of Project Moohan, Samsung has also launched the Galaxy A56 5G, A36 5G, and A26 5G ahead of MWC for users. There’s also an exclusive look at the Galaxy S25 Edge expected at the event.
