Samsung Galaxy S26 Lineup May Introduce Slimmer Model With a Fresh Name

Posted on October 31, 2025October 31, 2025 By Kumar Sumit No Comments on Samsung Galaxy S26 Lineup May Introduce Slimmer Model With a Fresh Name

Samsung Galaxy S26: Samsung might be preparing another incredibly thin smartphone — and this one could be even slimmer than the iPhone Air. Fresh leaks suggest that instead of discontinuing the Galaxy S25 Edge line due to weak sales, the company may be rebranding its next-generation slim handset under a new name, internally codenamed “More Slim.”

Samsung’s “More Slim” Could Replace the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge

According to a recent post on X (formerly Twitter) by tipster @SPYGO19726, Samsung is developing a device codenamed “More Slim”, featuring a remarkably thin 5.56mm profile. For context, that’s even slimmer than the 5.8mm Galaxy S25 Edge, launched earlier this year as the slimmest smartphone in the Galaxy S series.

If accurate, this makes the upcoming model one of the thinnest flagship phones ever made, even edging out the 5.6mm iPhone Air. The leak has sparked speculation that Samsung could be rebranding the Galaxy S26 Edge into something new, likely as part of a broader marketing strategy to give its ultra-slim lineup a fresh start after the S25 Edge’s underwhelming sales performance.

Possible Specs: Slim, Yet Powerful Samsung Galaxy S26

Despite its ultra-thin body, the Samsung “More Slim” isn’t expected to compromise on power. According to reports, the device will be powered by the Exynos 2600 chipset, Samsung’s latest in-house processor built for the upcoming Galaxy S26 series.

The phone is also tipped to feature a 6.6-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X LTPO 2.5 display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate, offering fluid performance and vibrant visuals while keeping power consumption low.

Under the hood, Samsung might pack a 4,300mAh lithium polymer battery — a noticeable upgrade over the Galaxy S25 Edge’s 3,900mAh cell. This would make it both slimmer and longer-lasting, thanks to energy-efficient hardware and display optimizations.

Dual-Camera Setup and Premium Design

On the camera front, Samsung’s “More Slim” could sport a dual rear setup featuring:

  • A 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle sensor, and
  • A 50-megapixel telephoto lens for optical zoom.

There are also rumors that Samsung is testing the feasibility of adding a periscope lens, though this might depend on design constraints — fitting advanced optics into a sub-6mm body is no small feat.

Design-wise, the device could feature an aluminium composite frame reinforced with a titanium substructure, ensuring structural rigidity despite its razor-thin build. This combination could help the smartphone maintain durability while staying lightweight and stylish.

Firmware Clues Confirm Work in Progress

Backing up the leaks, another X user @theonecid reportedly spotted firmware files referencing the Galaxy S26 Edge, which suggests that software development for Samsung’s next slim phone is already underway. This adds credibility to claims that the project hasn’t been shelved — only reimagined.

Meanwhile, Dutch tech outlet Galaxy Club reports that the development of the “More Slim” model is significantly behind the standard Galaxy S26 lineup. This means Samsung may delay its launch — possibly releasing it after the main Galaxy S26 series debut in early 2026.

Why Samsung Might Be Rebranding the Edge Line

When the Galaxy S25 Edge launched in May 2025, it made headlines for its incredibly sleek 5.8mm thickness — the slimmest Galaxy ever. However, despite its eye-catching design, reports suggest that sales fell short of expectations, largely due to compromises in battery capacity and camera versatility.

The phone debuted in India at Rs. 1,09,999 for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant. It packed a 6.7-inch AMOLED display (120Hz), a Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, and a dual-camera setup consisting of a 200MP primary and 12MP ultra-wide sensor, along with a 12MP selfie camera. However, the 3,900mAh battery limited its appeal among power users, especially at that premium price point.

Given that context, Samsung’s rumored decision to rebrand the Edge series makes sense. The new “More Slim” identity could help distance the next model from the S25 Edge’s lukewarm performance while emphasizing a balance between style, power, and endurance.

What to Expect Next

If leaks hold true, Samsung could unveil the “More Slim” sometime after the Galaxy S26 lineup, possibly in mid-to-late 2026. The phone’s ultra-thin design and improved battery capacity could make it a standout device for users who prioritize elegance and portability without sacrificing performance.

With rivals like Apple, Xiaomi, and Honor also pushing ultra-thin designs, Samsung’s next move could reignite the competition in the slim flagship smartphone segment.

For now, Samsung has made no official comments about the “More Slim” project — but given the number of firmware and insider leaks surfacing, it seems the world’s slimmest Galaxy phone might soon get a worthy successor.
